All packed up and ready to go!
Airports are interesting when they are opening in the morning.
I found a moose on the way to the water fountain.
Waiting for Lara, taking sometimes to write down some notes before getting airport breakfast.
This is the place I got breakfast! It was ok, it wasn't bad, which is always a good thing. I could eat it again.
Our plane arrived. It was late coming from San Francisco. Knowing it was delayed was nice, because I got to take extra time at home to finish up packing some things.
And we are inside!
Watching planes landing before taking off was fun. I always get an window seat when I can! The views are fabulous.
Boston Harbor! I need to go camp on those islands soon.
Wing
Lara was very excited to have landed in Colorado!
Denver airport has an interesting gate and terminal design. I think it works well. Massive place.
TORNADO SHELTER????
Got some food at the Denver airport before our 2 hour shuttle ride to Winter Park
Taking the train that runs between the terminals.
Some planes at the airport.
Waiting for the shuttle to arrive. At the wrong door! We later found out it was on the other side.
Found it!
Leaving Denver.
Quick rest stop for some fuel.
The mountains were looking mean!
Throw a tunnel we go.
And in the other side of the tunnel, its winter wonderland!
There was more and more snow as we got into the mountains. Which made us so much more excited for the snowboard trip we are part-taking in.
The fight to pass the slow truck that didn't know how to drive.
Winter Park Resort!
Got to our lodge.
This is the room, before it became a mess, and was upside down.
Nice shadows, and lamps.
The lodge had a fire place where we ate dinner at.
Lara is happy to have arrived. Wearing a Patriots hat in Broncos country.
Christmass decorations were still up!
Our lodge is also a ski shop.
A nice little mall right next to the lodge, where we went to check out what was around the area.
Another view of the lodge. I think there's a bunch of these.
A warm water fountain in the middle of winter. Very nice.
Lara poses in front of water.
We decided we needed some coffee.
They also had delicious fudge!
There were a lot of posters everywhere we went. I think it's a thing.
Also, there's a lot of statues on the streets. It's really nice to see so much art in such a compact place.
The snow that never stops.
Seriously, there's a lot of photos of the lodge.
More awesome art, this was at a board shop.
All kinds of boards, I don't remember seeing surf boards though.
Even the sign to the store is an art work!
A massive moose statue stands in front of the information center. Where we learned that we had to take the free 'the lift' shuttle down the road so that we could go to the market and get some food for our stay.
The lift also goes to the mountain, and many places in town.
